I am a mixed-media artist working with acrylic paints and painted paper collage. My process begins with a colourful acrylic under-layer, followed by hand-painted papers, often created with a gelli plate, which are torn and layered onto the canvas.

Shirley White

My paintings are primarily alcohol ink on synthetic paper, canvas, and other substrates. I use an air source to manipulate the ink creating vibrant, flowing movement then finish off with brushes. At times I incorporate other media such as acrylic ink and mica.

Dan Grays pastels are impressions of the moment. Born in Vancouver B.C., he has worked in soft pastel since 1975. Always painting from live models, always en plein air when painting the landscape. Dan is the Exhibition's featured artist, demonstrating his pastel skills.

The jewellery I make is a combination of sterling silver, gold, semi precious stones, pearls and enamels. My work is not limited to jewellery as enamelling is an expressive medium. As a result I create one of a kind wall hangings to compliment my jewellery.

Scratchboard art is a subtractive technique to create an image, it's like drawing in reverse. After scratching the desired image, is when to start adding colour. Applying ink washes, layering colour with scratches, 5-20 layers, this creates depth in a painting

Kira Neumann

My monoprint work begins with foraging for leaves and grasses in my garden and in the surrounding forest. I layer and create images with these natural pieces as well as with cut out paper shapes, using a gel plate and acrylic paint.

David Goatley will give a portait demonstration session by painting Chief Michael Recalma of the Qualicum First Nation.  

Acclaimed pastel artist Dan Gray will be our 2025 feature artist! Dan has worked in soft pastel since 1975 and is designated Premier Pastellist of Canada.

Spanish-influenced instrumental guitar music. From Qualicum Beach, he has performed in the area for the last 25 years.

The Jury Panel

Our thanks to the accomplished artists who have selected the participating exhibition artists.

Cindy Revell is a Canadian artist known for her vibrant, whimsical oil paintings and award-winning illustrations. Inspired by Dutch masters and folk art, her work blends realism with playful imagination. Based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, she creates joyful, energetic pieces featuring inquisitive birds and flowers, evoking wonder and possibility.

Harold Allanson, SFCA, TWSA, is a Canadian watercolour artist renowned for his realistic depictions of West Coast life. After retiring early, he dedicated himself to painting, drawing inspiration from his experiences in British Columbia's ranch lands and as a long-haul trucker. His work showcases strong composition, color, and light.

Canadian artist and author of the "The Stone Guardians"series,  Kindrie Grove,SFCA, based in Penticton, British Columbia, is renowned for her evocative wildlife and equine oil paintings and bronze sculptures. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, her work reflects a deep reverence for animals and is featured in international collections.
